“The S-Bridge to Manayunk” is an original watercolor painting by Nicholas Santoleri.

When I saw this photograph which is more than 100 years old, I was intrigued by it. I searched the internet to find more of what this industrial town looked like a century ago. My research helped me imagine life working and living in a mill town at that time. I painted my portrayal of the S-Bridge as it looked 100 years ago. This Bridge that connected Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County and the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was built in 1883 by T. L. Eyre, a Philadelphia contractor and replaced in 1923 by the current concrete open spandrel arch bridge.
The original watercolor painting is painted on Arches Watercolor Paper. The image size is 17 x 24 inches. The painting is matted and framed with archival materials and glazed with UV resistant glass. The over all dimensions of the framed piece is 27 x 34 inches.
The signed and numbered limited edition prints are reproduced on 100 lb. acid free, fine art paper and printed with pigmented inks. The image size is 13.75 x 20 inches. The over all print size is 17 x 24. The prints are reproduced in the giclee process.
