Would you like to have an original painting and/or Commission University Prints of your university, college or school?

Many of the school prints created by Nick have been commissioned by the institution as a fundraising tool.  If you have a historic building or campus icon that would make a lucrative limited edition print, we would like to discuss the project with you.

Commission University Prints Benefit To Your School:   They’re a great fund raising opportunity. The standard contract provides for a 65% net profit on the sale of each print. Revitalize school pride for alumni as a lasting memory of their school days comes to life on their walls. Increase public recognition for your university or school through the display of the prints at galleries and art shows.

How It Works:  If you choose to commission university prints of your school: Nick and representatives of your group will tour the campus to decide on an image that would make a good print.

Nick will draw sketches, take pictures, and then create a pencil drawing of the image for your approval. A contract will then be agreed upon.  The standard package will be based on the purchase of the original watercolor and an order of  200 – 400 prints at a significant discount off the retail price per print. Prints will be sold by your organization for retail and all profits will be yours. Originals are often purchased by major donors or displayed in a prominent school setting. Options to purchase additional prints and the original pencil sketch are also available. Nick will then begin the original watercolor painting, which will be approximately 15″ high by 24″ wide. It will be painted using the highest quality watercolor paint on Arches Watercolor Paper.  This takes approximately three to four weeks to complete. The painting will be done both on-site and in the studio. The painting process will be documented on www.PaintingInProgress.com,  providing you and your committee access to the project’s progress. The next step will be the creation of the limited edition prints from the painting. The original watercolor will be scanned by a professional expert in the subtleties of art scanning. The high-resolution scan is then scaled to the size of the print image.  The image size of the print will be approximately 12 1/2″ x 20″ while the overall size of the print, including the border, will be 17″ x 24″ The border allows for double matting and fine art framing.    The paper used in these prints will be 100 lb pH neutral (acid-free) paper produced for fine art reproductions. The fade-resistant pigmented ink that we use is specially produced for fine art reproductions, and capable of lasting generations without any visually noticeable difference in color. The printing process takes approximately 2 weeks from the completion of the watercolor painting. The prints will be inspected, signed and numbered by Santoleri. The prints are packaged flat in brown craft paper (100 prints per),  and delivered to your school. You will be able to see the creative process from start to finish on Painting In Progress.
